Improve Your Website in 3 Easy Steps

Have you ever sat there, staring at your website wondering why it isn’t working and how you could make it better? You might have struggled to notice the contrast between an effective website and your own – or maybe you didn’t even get that far. That’s okay; there’s a few things you can do to that’ll bring more people to your page, keep them on it longer, and make them more likely to take action.

One of the simplest steps you can take to improve your site is to make sure there is an eye catching, direct call to action in a very conspicuous place near the top of the homepage. This could be a button that says something along the lines of ‘Call Now’, ‘Send Me Information’, or ‘Sign Up Today’. You want to give the person who is looking at your website a place to say yes to your business while you are still at the front of their mind. A clear call to action in obvious areas of your website will definitely help.

Another foolproof way to make your website better is to fill it with top notch, interesting, quality content. Is there a question customers and prospects always seem to ask you? Answer it – and pop that bad boy on there!

You could also have a video produced of an interesting part of your day on the job, and embed it to your site. Any information you can provide your viewers with that draws off of your professional expertise could potentially make for great content that will keep people reading or watching longer and more likely to trust you over your competitors. Relevant content can also provide additional gateways to your website off of search engines.

A third way for you to improve your site is to make sure all of the information listed on it is up to date, accurate, and easy to find. If you don’t have your contact information on it, adding that is the easiest place to start. Make sure that the most basic questions about your business are answered somewhere on your website. Where are you located? What services/products do you provide? What differentiates you from competitors? How do people get in touch with you? When is your business open/closed? All of these are basic questions that should be included on your site in an easily accessible, obvious to find place.
