Here comes the bride and so much more!

The last 365 days feel like a time warp, the year that wasn’t. Did it really happen? The surreal experience of social distancing and washing our hands 100 times a day are ingrained habits, so it must have. Right?

When will it be okay to hug your friend? Who knows, but according to a recent survey of over 1200 community members, we learned that most people are optimistic about the upcoming months. Finally, we’re moving in the right direction and that was apparent last Sunday. Mid-West Family La Crosse hosted our annual Wedding World Expo on Sunday, March 7th at the La Crosse Center South Hall. We opted for an in-person event, which appeared intimidating during the initial planning phase. Though challenging, we mitigated the obvious pitfalls of holding an expo during a pandemic by staggering show times and spacing vendors. Capacity regulations meant fewer brides could attend, and even Charlotte’s Bridal changed their usual on stage extravaganza to a virtual fashion show. Everything was a little weird, but still magical!

We welcomed loads of smizing eyes! It was heartwarming to witness excited brides, maids, moms and even a few grooms eagerly plan their future. Given our circumstances, to experience this lively day of wedding shopping made things feel normal. As we like to say, Wedding World is Inspiration from Ceremony to Reception, but this year it was so much more. The 2021 Wedding World expo offered hope that everything is going to be okay. We will attend beautiful gatherings with our loved ones. There will be parties, merriment, and embracing our friends. There was so much to discover, but for me the Wedding World expo was a sign. Hang on, we’re almost there!
