Managing Your Marketing is a Job for the Experts

When it comes to marketing, a lot of businesses have people on their staff who know a little about this and a little of that. It’s rare for a small local business to have the knowledge needed to design a full-funnel marketing strategy without any help. So when you need to ramp up your marketing efforts, do you have an employee handle the job or do you find a marketing partner to manage your customer’s journey?

Depth of knowledge is necessary. We at Mid-West Family are constantly keeping up with online changes and search engine adjustments needed for successful digital marketing campaigns. While your employee may know a little bit of a few things – this is our business, it’s what we study and what we do. My team spends a lot of time watching trends and studying customer behavior. We are fluent in the best practices of almost every marketing tactic. If there’s something we need help with, we have resources we can call on.

Many employees fall into a marketing role. You may have an employee who’s really good at one aspect like social media or graphic arts for example. When going outside your walls for assistance you lose that opportunity to talk to your employee in the hallway or keep up with their daily activity. However, you gain a group of professionals devoted to your business with proven workflows and efficient processes. Take away extra duties from inexperienced employees and let them focus on what they are good at. When using a company like Mid-West Family you get a wide range of expertise, tools and software.

Groupthink isn’t always healthy. I recently had a conversation with a business owner who was having issues keeping her in-house marketing team focused on the company goals. Conversations were being dominated by one or two ideas. This hurt her business who was hungry for a fresh way to deliver creative content to regain her position in the market.

A fresh approach to creative can be profitable. I recently tried to assemble a patio heater. Had all the pieces, directions and tools but no matter how I looked at it I couldn’t get it to make sense. It can happen when a client does creative in-house, too. A fresh perspective on content and messaging to keep your brand current is more likely accomplished with a group like Mid-West Family.

Let the professionals handle the details. Our relationships with clients are becoming more and more consultancy based. In our experience, business owners need our help on multiple tactics rather than advice on one medium or technique. Employees can’t keep up with changes and in-house marketing departments of small local businesses can’t know intricacies of all the various advertising methodologies.

If an in-house marketing specialist doesn’t make sense for your business or your payroll, let us bring our team of qualified experts together to work on your marketing strategy. The conversation is free and I bet you’ll learn something, too.
